Craig Caldwell, USTAR Professor, Film and Media Arts Department and one of the founders of the Masters in Entertainment Arts and Engineering. Industry experience includes working twice at Walt Disney Feature Animation and later at Electronic Arts Games.

Previous academic background includes Head of the largest Film School in Australia at Griffith University, Brisbane; and Head of the Media Arts Department, University of Arizona. Caldwell has been named a DeTao Master at the Institute of Animation and Creative Content on the SIVA Campus, Shanghai. He frequently speaks at international universities and conferences such as FMX, SIGGRAPH, Mundos Digitales, SIGRAPH Asia, and Bengaluru GAFX.

Caldwell earned his Ph.D. in Computer Graphics and Animation from the Advanced Computing Center for Art and Design, The Ohio State University. His MFA is in the Visual Arts from University of Florida where he studied under Jerry Uelsmann and Hiram Williams. He recently authored the text Story Structure and Development – A Guide for Animators, VFX artists, Game Designers, and Virtual Reality.
