Independent Film & Video Magazine called Trent Harris, “One of America’s premiere cult directors.” The Los Angeles Critics Association awarded Harris "Best Independent Experimental Film" for his feature Beaver Trilogy, starring Sean Penn. This film was also listed by the London Guardian as one of “Fifty Lost Masterpieces” and hit the "Top Ten" list of Art Forum Magazine. Harris's movies have played at festivals worldwide, including three films at Sundance. Other major screenings include: The Lincoln Center in New York, the British Film Institute, the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna, The Swiss Cinematheque, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He has also been honored with six retrospectives of his work in Europe, South America and the States. Harris has just completed his eight feature film, Echo People. He has also produced scores of nationaly broadcast documentaries for NBC, National Geographic and PBS. Harris is the author of two books, Mondo Utah and Wild Goose Chronicles. His papers and films are held at the Marriott Library Special Collections, University of Utah.
