Stories Matter Program - Applications due Sep 29

STORIES MATTER

Learn to write with your unique voice through a NEW SESSION of the FREE program Stories Matter, in which professional writers mentor underserved women who want/must/NEED to tell a story. 

The program is led by best-selling author, actress, writer and award-winning documentarian – Leslie Zemeckis, and in partnership with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) and ENTITY Magazine. Stories Matter is a free program of professional female writers mentoring women ages 18-32 who want to better learn how to write a story in their voice. 

This eighth session of the program will be an intensive of 1.5 - 2-hour meetings via zoom every Saturday morning October 5th - November 9th and will include the following:

·                     One on one mentoring

·                     Everyone will write an 800-word piece about "A Woman You Should know." At the end of the sessions those stories that have been diligently worked on will be published in ENTITY Magazine. The subject woman can be living or dead, historical or personal to you.

·                     OUR FOCUS WILL BE ON: Description, community, building a writerly life, confidence, vocabulary.
