OVERVIEW

The primary focus of the Film Commission Locations Intern is to create and update the digital photograph location database for Salt Lake and surrounding counties. Reel Scout location database and training on how to location scout will be provided upon hiring by the Production Manager and Production Coordinator. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Operations and Workforce Development at the Utah Film Commission.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Scout and photograph Utah locations for production needs

  • Create new and edit existing locations in the Utah Film Commission Location Database

  • Responsible for updating all database contacts for location and permit needs

  • Outreach to businesses in the region to be potential filming locations

  • Script breakdowns and location packets for clients as needed

  • Update staff on new locations in the database

  • Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Photography skills to capture and produce high-quality photographs

  • Technical ability to edit and retouch photos as needed

  • Be licensed to drive in the State of Utah

  • Familiar with some or all of these applications and platforms: Google Apps; including Gmail and Meets. Adobe Creative Cloud, Lightroom or other photo editing software

  • Organizational skills and the ability to self-manage workload

  • Attention to detail and procedural policies

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The best candidate for the position will have:

  • Team player with high degree of social competence, sense of responsibility and assertiveness

  • Geographical knowledge of the State of Utah and the general understanding of the film industry

  • Must be able to take constructive feedback and work collaboratively

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Duration: April 15-June 30, 2024

  • Days and Times for position may vary depending on scouting trips

  • There is no remote option available for this position

  • This position will be 20 hours per week

  • Pay is $15/hour

  • Office Location: Council Hall - 300 State St, Salt Lake City, UT 84103
