Paul Battista

Paul Battista is a practicing entertainment attorney and has provided legal services to more than 135 feature film, documentary and television projects. He was an attorney before attending the University of Utah (MFA, Film Studies ’00), and upon graduation embarked on producing and direct a script he had begun writing while a student. A year and half later he was in principal photography on the film, Crooks, that was eventually released on DVD and video-on-demand by Warner Home Video.  Battista has provided legal services to many independent films, including films that have screened at Sundance, Toronto and Cannes film festivals. His book Independent Film Producing: How to Produce a Low-Budget Feature Film is required or recommended reading at film, business and law schools throughout the country including UCLA MFA Producing Program, NYU Film School and, of course, the University of Utah.
